King of Hearts.

To partner with the bountiful lady of yesterday, we have a cheerful and solid gentleman today! A middle-aged man with a well-trimmed yet vigorous beard and mustache, a sea captain's hat (with the fern crown stitched onto it) and a knitted sweater. His eyes, too, are green and gentle. He is tipping over a double-sided heart cup - his right hand at top and his left hand at bottom. From both, fish-filled water is pouring over his shoulder (the card is perfectly reversible). Over his left shoulder, a few tentacles of the Kraken are reaching! Behind him, in an image made ambiguous by perspective, either the regularly-recurring fish is diving behind him, or is him, and he is actually a mermaid. The ocean heaves in the background, full of fish.

I feel like this gentleman is a fine partner to yesterday's lady. He is calm amidst some dreadful weather. Also he might be a fish? Maybe??

The pamphlet reads "Sensitivity and Creativity Channeled into Professional Success".

I wonder if this means the fish represents sensitivity? Or creativity? Something to meditate on! I can see that he is the pinnacle, as all King cards are - there is more water here with more activity than in any other card. I suppose this is the height of emotion - being able to channel it in this way into one's profession... or, I guess, one's activities in the world. (I'm a little allergic to careers right now.)

On that note. I wonder if my emotions have any connection to my career, or should I say, my "career"? Right now... the answer is no. Even to do the types of jobs I have done lately, my emotions are something I need to suppress, not utilize.

It does occur to me that in my writing, my emotions are instead a source of great power. It does occur to me...

More meditation will certainly be needed on this gentleman, and no doubt the next time he pops up, I will be doing that.
